In addition to the many intricacies involved in finding top talent, employers must comply with state and federal laws. Employment relationships are presumed to be “at-will” in all U.S. states except Montana. This means that either the employer or the employee can terminate the working relationship at any time, with or without cause or advance notice. At-will also means that an employer can change the terms of the employment relationship at any time.
